Set in a fictional world featuring a number of distinct humanoid races, mysterious artifacts from an ancient era known as "Remnants" are exists. Each Remnant is "bound" to a specific person, who is the only one who can then use their power. The game follows the adventure of Rush Sykes, a 18-year-old Mitra boy who gets thrust into global intrigue after his sister Irina has been kidnapped. The Last Remnant is a a role-playing game developed and published by Square Enix for the Xbox 360 and Windows on 2009. The battle system in The Last Remnant is a combination of traditional turn-based RPG gameplay with some tactical elements. The player controlling a group of units called Unions, ranging from three to five individual units and clashing them out with hordes of enemies on the battlefield. Player give commands to each unit and they carry it out as a single unit. Each unit has a morale gauge which has a direct effect to their ability and if the leader is killed the unit cannot attack. At the beginning, player only have a few units and Unions, but throughout the game player earn the ability to have more units. The leader must be hired and building units correctly is important to win many battles.
